Job Description:
To be responsible for and maintain all the clinical related equipment as per the manufacture’s specifications and Health Technology Regulations.

- Ability and willingness to be on stand-by and partake in a call-out system, clinical and general technical services call-out.
- Purchasing and motivating for the purchasing of medical equipment.
- Planning and executing regular equipment services to comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Interaction with Clinical Equipment Coordinators (CEC’s), Medical Equipment Maintainers (MEM’s) and Clinical Engineering
- Technician Assistants (CETAS) on technical and financial issues related to clinical equipment.
- Liaising with medical equipment suppliers to stay informed and trained in latest technological development.
- Interacting with Hospital Management in the absence of a Technical Services Manager.
- Reporting on clinical equipment to the Technical Services Manager.
- Responsibility for the management of all clinical equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to transfer information through practical interaction with a wide range of staff.
- Interaction and training of all staff regarding medical equipment.
- Maintenance of all clinical related equipment per manufacturer’s specifications and Health Technology Regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Eligible for professional registration as a Technician at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- Familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety- and Health Act Regulations advantageous
- Member of the South African Association of Clinical Engineers (CEASA)
Qualification & Experience:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering; Clinical Engineering with two years additional experience and
- A proven track record in the medical field with a minimum 1 year relevant experience Knowledge
- training in the maintenance and management of medical equipment in a Hospital environment Work experience
